Have a Fika with me!

Fika is a swedish word for a break that usually includes coffee or other hot beverage together with something sweet, like a cinnamon roll or other baked goods. You can fika alone or with people.
This is a project I came up with as a one person business where you don't have that fika break that most companies have where they chat about all things going on (tv, politics, movies, weekend plans, etc).
I invite you to have a fika with me. Put the kettle on and have a seat.

This is going to be a web series with more short films on the subject of Fika.

A hello and some words.

Hi!
Sooo, first of all I want to say sorry for totally neglecting this blog. Secondly I want to say HEY! My homepage is soon in english! SOOOOON! Like in a week or two maybe.
It's going to be so pretty you can't believe it! Or, I hope you'll react that way because I really love the new design and can't wait until it's finished.
I will have a translation part under each blog post and I hope you all will come visit every day!

So, how have your holidays been?
Mine was so lovely.
Family and friends all christmas long but before that me and David actually got engaged! On our five year anniversary. Wedding in spring 2013. But first: a crazy fun filled 2012! Hope you will join me: I actually cannot believe how much is going on this year.
Me and David are writing on a movie script for an animated movie that David is going to make and I will be a voice in it as well. We have some famous swedish actors that has said they want to be voices and it's lots of secracy about the whole project but I will tell you all about it when I can. :-)

Where I go to write a script.

 We're at Österlen trying to write a movie script. 

After a bit of hard script thinking we went for a walk in the beautiful hills.

Walked pass the big farm house.

It was so windy I had to keep one hand on my hat almost the entire walk. It was so beautiful everywhere. I've only ever been here during summer time before and it felt amazing to see my favourite place in my favourite part of the year.

I love all of these pictures of David under the big tree. Couldn't decide which one to show you so I'll show you all of them instead. :-) They remind me a bit of the poster for the movie Big Fish.

When we came home after about an hour we made hot vegetable soup and continued our script brain storming. This should turn out quite well!

Mixed messages.

On the subway a few days ago when I was in Stockholm.
Me and my sister were talking with a nice couple who sat next to us. They felt like really great people who you instantly like.
When it was their stop they got up and from the woman's pocket fell a note that landed on the floor right in front of us.

It's hard to wake from a nightmare when the nightmare is real. 


My heart felt a bit cold. What do we really know about anybody?

Flea market bonanza!

I've been visiting my sister and 8 weeks old niece this weekend. We went to two totally different flee markets and bought lots of great stuff! The first one was in a lovely suburb with not a lot of people so we had first chance on all the goodies! The second one was crazy! The entire city of Stockholm must have been there. Still found plenty of nice stuff though.

It was amazing weather in Stockholm. I even burned myself a little! In september! Me and my crazy pale skin...
Came home to a rainy Gothenburg yesterday. But I don't really care because the air is lovely and autumn is  here!! Oh, how I love autumn!

All beamed up!

I was taking photos of a new necklace pendant today and all of a sudden a beam of light touched the vintage crystal. It looked almost like a cyber connection of some kind. I laughed at my thought and took plenty of more pictures. Sometimes all you need is an unexpected beam of light!

A glimpse into my livingroom.

 A few weeks ago I got to roam around in my grandfathers storage room where he keeps all his paintings. He has been working as an artist all of his life so there was a lot to choose from. I took the three paintings you can see in the picture above that show ships at a shipyard, and another one that is hanging on the other side of the wall.
I really love how it turned out. It's a strange thing, me and my grandfather is not the best of friends but I really admire his work and feel a strong connection with his art. I have noticed that my own inspirations are similar to his; both of us is drawn to the rugged and worn, the beauty in the unperfect. So even if we as persons don't get along our creative sides understands eachother perfectly.

A goodbye to the ocean for this summer.

Yesterday we walked by the ocean, collecting branches and dried plants. We sat on top of the old stone fortress and watched the sky and the water almost melt together.

I think I might have broken my "new" vintage film camera. I know the film inside would have been perfect! Feel really sad about that.
When it started to get chilly we walked back to the car. I was barefoot and had to be very careful not to step on the discusting slugs that shared our footpath.
Today we went back to Gothenburg again. It feels really good to be home. Our home.

Ps: The tote is from Fieldguided and has a lovely Kate Bush quote on it. I love it because it fits all my thrifts and when I needed to be barefoot in the sand it contained my shoes as well.

Down by the sea.

Nothing affects me more than the ocean. It's like my body needs it. Today I walked by the shoreline in the cold water getting lots of sand on my feet.

Unintentional colour coordination.

Went to a flea market today and when I got home I realised I had only bought things in matching colours. Even the candy. I'm feeling weirdly proud about this.

Splinter of light and earth.

Often when I make jewelry I fall in love with the shape that comes to life through my fingers. Like this necklace pendant. I can't stop looking at it! It's such a great feeling when you make something and it turns out exactly like, or even better than, you pictured it in your head!

Flea markets and faces from long ago.

Today I went to a flea market with my friend Becka. The weather was lovely and I wore my summer hat and a white skirt against my equally white, freckled legs.

I found a few things that got to follow me home in my new tote from Fieldguided.
Bought lots of old necklaces with beautiful glass and stone beads that I will reuse in my jewelry.
Then I found a nice black 80's tie blouse that looked really great on me.
But the best find is probably the tiny photo locket with a portrait of a beautiful women inside. I'm so fascinated by photographs of people who lived a long time ago. No one remenbers them anymore, it's like they never existed. But this lady is now living in my window and maybe I will take her with me in a chain around my neck..

She has such a great face! Sometimes I think I can see a lovely smirk on her lips and sometimes there's a sadness in her eyes. Almost like Mona Lisa.
I think I would have liked this woman if I had lived when she did.
Sometimes it strucks me that there are so many people that have lived there lives before us. It's quite a overwhelming yet amazing feeling.  This lady now lives a new life with me.
So she'll never be completely forgotten.
